Formatting with InDesign
The lay out of the book requires many steps, and all of these small steps I have learned in InDesign. I began using the program four months ago, and can now honestly declare that I feel more comfortable using InDesign than any other editing software. I have applied styles to the text, such as chapter title, subtitle, footnote, blockquote, etc. These styles I have preset and applied to the text. This makes the process more effective, especially if the the book is to be in EPUB format as well. The conversion to EPUB does not support style overrides. Also in the program, I have created diagrams using tools, such as the line, stroke, type, etc. The following exerpts should represent both applied styles and diagrams:
Exerpt 1: Pedro Barbosa’s “Towards a Theory on Computer Generated Text”
Exerpt 2: Pedro Barbosa’s “A New Concept of Work”
